Captiva Cottages are eight vacation cottages on landscaped grounds, right on the water facing Pine Island Sound. Relax among peaceful, natural beauty and enjoy the shared pool. The cottages are ground-level for easy access, and the shops, restaurants, and activities of the Captiva Village are about one minute’s walk.

These homes are undoubtedly the best value on Captiva Island, offering an outstanding waterfront location and clean, comfortable interiors at a bargain price. They are perfect for extended-stay couples, naturalists, and larger families and groups (rent several cottages).

Smart TVs ( 50 inches or larger) are located in both the living room and bedroom of the cottage! The oversize shower is easy to step in. Cottage #1 is fresh, clean, and new.

Captiva Cottages provides beach towels, beach chairs, and a beach umbrella for your day at the beach!

Cottage #1 has views of the bay northeast and southeast, especially nice from the screened lanai. It is close to the pool and grill area.

Parking is limited to one car. The dock is now available for use at $75 per night.


All reservations/cancellations are subject to the terms and conditions (policies) of the American Realty Rental Agreement once the reservation is booked thru 3rd party platforms.

Policies include but are not limited to credit card/debit card convenience fees and cancellation fees.

  We have been dealing with American Realty of Captiva for over 40 years. The unit we are renting is perfect for us. Located on the bay side with a short walk to the gulf. Eateries are within walking distance. Doc Ford, Cantina, are some of our favorites. The newly renovated General Store is ideal for quick shopping. The atmosphere on this island is friendly.   Good location to the north end activities of Captiva. We walked to restaurants and the beach, 1/2 mile or so. It's an older property, but is in good condition, with good AC and heat, if needed. A couple of the window operators didn't work, but not important to us. The 'dock' was "under repair", but no evidence of any work done, or planned. We were here 5 years ago, and the dock was nice to have, so the excuses presented were weak. Pool smallish, but in good shape. Some older Adirondack chairs on the water for hanging out. Bed comfortable, maybe a little soft for us, and furniture comfortable.

  I've stayed in this same unit several times. It is one of the most basic and least expensive accommodations on this very expensive island. Yet it has everything I need. It's clean and adequately equipped. I like the private patio, and pool and dock just steps away. It's only 2 blocks from downtown, so you can walk everywhere, yet it's far enough away from the partying to be quiet and restful. Just right for an individual or couple looking for a peaceful, fun getaway.

  Had a great stay in cottage 1. The location was perfect. Walked to McCarthy's Marina to board a shell cruise, to the Bubble Room, and to Key Lime Bistro. The walk down Laika Lane was fun and ends in a very nice beach access that is the closest one. The cottage was clean with simple "beachy" decor. The dresser and bedside table have been upgraded and are white, and the open lattice work shown between the bedroom and main living area is now a solid wall. There is new landscaping at the entry to the cottage with many colorful flowers.

  The sewer system continues to be a big issue and has been for many years. We are hopeful the problem will be resolved. The dock was damaged by Hurricane last November and has not been repaired. Some of the soft furnishings need to be replaced (rug, couch) Just normal wear and soil. I would not recommend this unit until issues are resolved.

  I've stayed here four times now, which I guess says it all. The unit meets my needs of being centrally located yet quiet, provide all I need without being over-large or expensive. I like swimming in the heated pool under the palm trees, walking across the island for the sunset, and walking to my boat cruise.
