Bayhaven

Bayhaven is a beautiful bay front house in Captiva’s village area, featuring a large, private, heated pool with integrated in-ground spa tub and waterfall. Enjoy an uncrowded Captiva beach just one block up Chapin Lane. Bayhaven is a non-smoking home.

The home takes advantage of its water front location with superb views, looking east over Pine Island Sound. Enjoy the views from the master suite and balcony, the den, screened lanai, great room, and even the kitchen. The waters are frequented by dolphins and manatees, which you can watch from the dock or from the house. It’s not unusual to catch the dolphins frolicking just beyond the dock, leaping into the air or performing other antics. Exotic marine birds also thrive here and seem almost tame as they share the habitat with humans (but please do not approach any wildlife).

The dock itself is extraordinary, as it winds its way through mangroves with graceful bends to a large T at the end. Kayaks and canoes can be tied up here (no power boats, please). Bayhaven is a great location for exploring Captiva’s bay shore, inlets, and the intriguing mangrove-lined creeks of uninhabited keys.

Relax and take in the natural Captiva beauty on this large screened lanai. It’s equipped for outdoor dining as well. Step down from the lanai to the lower level deck, and walk out the dock to the open water of the bay.

  We had a great stay. Management company was very available and responsive. I would recommend this property. Beds were very comfortable and pool was amazing. The screened in porch had not been mopped and, as we had a crawling baby, that was an issue. We found the mop and went over it twice to get it clean. We also did the edges and railings with paper towel to get them clean. Under the coffee table was not clean either, but we were able to get it cleaned up. There were some maintenance issues with the property, but nothing major. We informed the management company about the broken toilet seat and missing broom and they were very responsive to us. The furniture is pretty worn (couches and kitchen table).

  We stayed at Bayhaven in late February 2021 and had a week of perfect weather and fun.
  
  The house: While updated Bayhaven is an older home but it has been kept in as good a condition as possible. We found the beds and linens comfortable and the house was well stocked with towels (including beach towels). The couches weren’t comfortable, but this just helped us get outside more. The pool was great, really heated nice and warm. It has a little wear on it as well and the osprey like to eat right above it so we did find a fish in there once. The internet was great and my 3 children were able to attend virtual school no problem.
  
  The location: Is perfect. You can walk to all the restaurants and bars and the beach without ever needing to worry about your car. The beach was gorgeous and not crowded. Masks are worn inside most businesses.
  
  We had a small appliance issue in the house that was dealt with immediately by the agency. Would recommend this house and location absolutely. You will not be disappointed.

  House was great. Plenty of space. We loved fishing off the dock. The elevator was certainly a plus for hauling luggage to the bedrooms.
  The one minor suggestion for improvement would be to have pans to cook with.
  Other than that the place was excellent.

  Maximum. Sleeps 4. 2 queens in one room and 1 king. The Murphy bed was a joke. Hasn’t been updated in years. Sliding doors to the porch very difficult to use. Kitchen not well equipped. Great dock

  Beautiful home, great location, enjoyed fishing from the dock and the pool. Having an elevator to transport bags & groceries was wonderful!! Had an issue with the septic tank the min we arrived...alarm had to be silenced every 12 hours, Ac required servicing, frig h20/ice door not working, toilets leaking, etc... maintenance personnel were very good about responding to several issues

  House was nice, but on the bay-side while we where there red tide had killed a lot of fish and had a unique smell. Never the less the island was still beautiful and relaxing.

  We loved our time on Captiva and especially loved our Bayhaven home! We were not disappointed and everything exceeded our expectations. I absolutely loved our Master Suite...I never missed a sunrise from our private deck...I had to video just so I can remember it for a long time to come! We had a very short walk to the beach, The General Store, Shops, Rentals and restaurants! We loved the Cantina and Bubble Room! We rented a golf cart...a must have! We went on a shelling boat trip with Captiva Cruises...they were awesome as well...saw schools of Dolphins and found some beautiful shells! If we had any negatives it may have been when the breeze came across the smelled like sulfur...which no one can control that! The birds took over the dock...had to take towels to sit on the bench as they left droppings...everywhere...and again...beyond anyone's control! My husband and son-in-law saw a 5 foot shark swim under the dock as well as a sea turtle and then I sat out there with my husband one morning and we watched dolphins and a manatee! They caught some fish...which thrilled our 3 year old Grandson! We all enjoyed the pool before and after the beach! American Realty was great to work with and we will be back! Highly recommend the property and Thank you for making this one of the best family vacations we have experienced!

  My family of 7 stayed at this beautiful home in Captiva during spring break in April this year. Bayhaven is in the perfect location to be able to explore Captiva on foot or bike. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away with small children in tow, as are many wonderful restaurants, a small grocery store, and a quaint little church.
  
  Sitting on the balcony of the master bedroom in the morning watching the sunrise, seeing the dolphins swim by and watching the birds come to life was breath-taking! The kids had a ball at the beach, in the private heated pool, as well as on the private dock from which we saw many dolphins and 3 manatees. We caught many catfish from the dock but also paid for a fishing tour which was a lot of fun as well. We boarded the boat for the tour at the Green Flash Restaurant only 3-4 driveways away.
  
  As far as inside the house, there was previous mention of there only being a Keurig for the coffee pot. There are now, however at minimum 3 coffee pots; a Keurig, a cone filter pot AND a regular filter pot. When comparing this with previous beach rentals, Bayhaven had fishing gear, a few beach chairs, an umbrella, and some sand toys for the kids. There weren't, however, any activities for inside like games or cards, puzzles, etc. However, with the beautiful weather of Captiva this certainly wouldn't hinder our decision to stay here again.
  
  And one more note, if you're thinking the 3rd bedroom isn't private enough, the home has been remodeled and the 3rd bedroom no longer has the french doors so it is more private. The pictures on the site haven't been upgraded to show this yet.
  
  Also, there was mention that the elevator didn't work, or that you needed a key for it. No key is needed...you just need to make sure that all of the doors on all floors are shut and then just push the button. When the elevator arrives at your floor you're good to go. We figured this out only AFTER climbing up all the stairs
