Welcome to beautiful Captiva Island, Florida and paradise! The lovely Sunset Captiva #48 vacation rental home is located in the private, quiet, community of “Sunset Captiva” across from the pool and the beach boardwalk. The community is centrally located on more than 6 miles of spectacular beach on the Gulf of Mexico. There is a pool, dock, two tennis courts, and recreation area complete with gas grills and picnic tables. It’s also conveniently close to The Village and the finest in dining, shopping, and recreation. This is a place that is great to walk and explore.

  We stayed at Sunset Captiva #48 and it was wonderful in every way! American really is a wonderful company to deal with and they keep their place is very nice and clean! We were very close to the beach had a wonderful swimming pool and tennis courts the groundsman, George was so nice and helpful in every way! He keeps the grounds beautiful and so clean! Our unit had bikes so we can ride all
  over the island.. everything was just perfect! A wonderful place to stay! I’ve been going to Captiva for 20 years now and this is the first time I stayed at sunset Captiva and I would definitely go back!

  As always we enjoyed our stay in Captiva. With the Corner Store unavailable due to complete rebuild we had to go to Sanibel for supplies. The furnishing were very nice but the unit is in need of some general maintenance. The only downside was the nightly music from Key Lime Bistro which ended at 10:00PM.

  The Sunset Captiva community is in a wonderful location, only a block from Andy Rosse Lane with the bay on one side of the street and the Gulf on the other. Would LOVE to stay in this community again.
  
  Our particular home was nice; however it is in need of some attention. Broken tiles throughout the kitchen, had some trouble with the sliding glass doors, cookware is a bit dated, some of the information in the home was incorrect/dated. The unit could have used some more bathroom towels and it would have been nice to have at least a starter kit of sorts of cleaning products. Overall though, we did not stay in the house that much so it is not like it impacted our stay that much.
  
  The management company was good although I had to reach out to the company prior to our arrival to get instructions for entering the home whereas I would have expected the company contact me...not a big deal. I did have to have some packages delivered during our stay and the management company allowed me to have them delivered to its office which I appreciated since Amazon did not like the address of the home I provided. I was told I would be contacted when the packages arrived, however I was not on any of the three occasions. Fortunately I had email notices sent to me when the packages were delivered so I would stop by the office to get my packages only to be told each time, "oh yes, we did have deliveries today however I have not looked through them". That was a bit disappointing.
  
  The final question is whether I would recommend this property...I would highly recommend the Sunset Captiva community as a whole; as it relates to this particular unit, I may suggest it but would share some of its nuances.

  We stayed 2 adults and 2 small children. It was our first time in Captiva. We all loved it. This location is perfect because you are close to all the shops, restaurants, the marina and the beach is not far either. It was all doable with our kids. We loved it and will definitely be back.
