Captiva Cottages are eight vacation cottages on landscaped grounds, right on the water facing Pine Island Sound. Relax among peaceful, natural beauty and enjoy the shared pool. The cottages are ground-level for easy access, and the shops, restaurants, and activities of the Captiva Village are about one minute’s walk.

These cottages are undoubtedly the best value on Captiva Island, offering an outstanding waterfront location and clean, comfortable interiors at a bargain price. They are perfect for extended-stay couples, naturalists, and larger families and groups (rent several cottages).

Smart TVs ( 50 inches or larger) are located in both the living room and bedroom of the cottage!

Captiva Cottages provides beach towels, beach chairs, and a beach umbrella for your day at the beach!

Parking is limited to one car. The dock is now available for use at $75 per night.


All reservations/cancellations are subject to the terms and conditions (policies) of the American Realty Rental Agreement once the reservation is booked thru 3rd party platforms.

Policies include but are not limited to credit card/debit card convenience fees and cancellation fees.

  We first stayed here 7 years ago and loved the flexibility of arrival/departure dates and lengths of stay. It is much quieter than the resort atmosphere- the parking is easy, the view is beautiful and you can't beat the location.I have noticed the price jumped in the past few years- a 7 day stay in one of these small cottages (1/1) is similar in price to the same length of stay in a 2/2 on the resort.

  We loved our stay here. The pandemic locked us up for two years. We just wanted to escape. Captiva Cottages we’re perfect for the two us. Comfy bed, nice kitchen and bath. Clean. Pool was awesome. Walked everywhere. Beach chairs were even provided. Property is well taken care of and nice flora. We were in a place not to be found.
  Don’t hesitate booking here. We were in #6 and perfect for 2 adults.

  My husband and I have been coming to the Captiva area for several years with our four children and family/ friends.... This was our first trip as a couple... to celebrate our birthdays! We’ve always admired the cottages and took the chance at renting one !!! Best decision ever!! Location, peace and quiet, quaint beachy feell and spacious enough for 2... it was everything we needed!! The cottage was spotless! Bed and linens were so clean and fresh...The kitchen had everything we needed ...it came with beach towels and chairs which we used daily! (I would recommend exchanging one chair since the straps are broken for carrying). Sunrises were amazing... and sunsets never disappoint on Captiva! We hope to rent again and again... if they’re ever available!! These are a hidden secret (I almost don’t want to share this review... haha). Thank you for this opportunity to stay ... We will be back!!! (Also highly recommend bike rentals at YOLO). We literally rode the entire island!!)

  We rented cottage number 6 and were thrilled with our stay. The location is perfect, we walked everywhere we wanted to go with more than plenty number of choices for restaurants and activities. The cottage was perfect for the two of us, it was decorated so cute, it was very clean and the bed was very comfortable, the grounds were very well maintained. The kitchen was very well stocked. We received excellent customer service. We can't wait to return for another vacation next year! We enjoyed kayaking and D. Darling Reserve, the beaches and all the excellent restaurants!

  Went for a beautiful July 4 weekend and had an amazing time. The cottage was sparkling clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. We had a full kitchen, full size fridge, updated appliances and coffee pot. Everything in the quaint village is walkable, just park your car and forget about it. There are 2 markets within walking distance for food, drinks, any toiletries you may have forgotten. The restaurants nearby were fantastic and family friendly. The pool on the property was very clean and nice to take a dip in when the heat and humidity gets overwhelming. Like any place in Florida, bring bug spray for the mosquitos. There is a dock on the premises which is in disrepair, a little disappointing. Would be a great fishing spot or to bring your boat. Overall, we had a fabulous time and can't wait to go back! I would definitely stay here again!

  I had an excellent stay in this luxurious one bedroom cabana. It’s walking distance from restaurants. The bed was firm and very comfortable. The kitchen has plenty of space and was fully stocked if you wanted to cook or just use Tupperware to bring fruit to the beach. The washer/dryer worked great too. Excellent spot!

  This is our Third trip to Captiva but our first staying at the Cottages. The cottages are clearly very old but the inside is very nicely updated, very clean, and perfectly appointed! They had everything in the kitchen and Bathroom that we needed! The WiFi was great and we really enjoyed the Adirondack chairs on the bay to watch the sunrise. We will definitely be staying here again.

  We were looking for a getaway from the East Coast of Florida and hadn't been back to Captiva in years. We checked VRBO and found the Captiva Cottage from American Realty. The photos looked great and we wanted to get away for Labor Day. While booking i did experience a glitch and actually booked 2 rentals for the same time. I contacted Alan Garcia of American Realty and he quickly resolved the problem and promptly issued a refund check as it had already been charged. We arrived mid afternoon on Friday and were able to get in the unit quickly with the code provided. The cottage was the perfect size for 2 people with re done kitchen and bathroom. It also included a washer dryer, great for after the beach. The great thing about these cottages were the proximity to Andy Rosse Lane and all the restaurants in the area. It was nice to walk to lunch or dinner and not have to worry about parking (as parking is usually a problem in that area. We also liked the chairs and umbrellas that the cottage provided. We brought a bag or two of groceries and we were set. We will be back Great Experience and good communication with the agent.

  We were visiting Captiva for my goddaughter’s wedding for the week of November 25. Their family was staying 3 doors down in 5 bedroom home. We celebrated her wedding and Thanksgiving all in the same week! We loved our cottage and were able to cook one of the turkeys in our oven! It was lovely! We loved the 2 TVs! We had a maintenance issue and the fellow came within 15 min. To fix it. Great service!
